I always enjoy welcoming visitors to Oak Tree High School, as they often comment on the warm, friendly and supportive atmosphere and the creative and enthusiastic energy of the girls. There are many preconceptions about an Islamic girl’s school, and I would urge anyone to visit us to see the reality behind assumptions.  The girls here explore all aspects of British values, learn about other faiths and no faith, carry out charitable work, welcome businesses and agencies to run workshops and use our collective resources to prepare themselves for a complex and competitive world within an Islamic ethos.  Even in the first few weeks of the new academic year we celebrated Democracy Day with formal election, invited the army in to run challenges, and we are taking groups of girls to Oxford and Cambridge Universities in order to raise their aspirations and help to break down further assumptions and barriers.

We take pride in the school’s longstanding reputation for academic excellence, with a progress 8 score of over 1.2, and 85% of GCSE passes being ‘good’ passes,  but there is much more to life here than simply our headline achievements. We are ambitious and innovative in our approach to teaching and learning to best equip and inspire our students to flourish in the outside world.

I hope that our website gives you a flavour of life at Oak tree High. However, it is by visiting us that you will gain the strongest impression of our unique atmosphere and ethos, and I do very much look forward to extending a warm welcome to you in the near future.

Mr Dave Green
